Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov
Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov was put on at the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2013.
The Sound Design of this show was comprised of both live music, recorded and canned sound effects.
One of the actors learned how to play the piano, and I coached another through simple guitar playing. There are also a few songs that are sung throughout the show, such as "Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-de-ey" and "Those were the Days."
There was a large range of music/ underscoring within the show, which is all orginal composition. The purpose of the underscoring moments within the show are to enhance moments of importance with in the lives of the Three Sisters on their journey throughout the play. The goal of the Design is to have the audience empathize with these characters who are each going through a powerful journey.
